Monday Motivation: Don't Let Fear Stop You

This week’s Monday Motivation is inspired by last week’s Shorty Awards- the award show that highlights creators from all the popular social media sites – Instagram, YouTube, SoundCloud, Vine and so much more.

One Shorty award winner, comedian King Bach gave some amazing advice – Don’t let a fear of fail stop you from achieving your dreams.

Bach (also from the new movie "Meet the Blacks") won the award for Best Viner of the year. After thanking God and his parents, he told the audience, “I want to give a message: it’s to not fear failure.

“Always, like, just go out and do it. You can’t succeed if you don’t fail. You got to fail to learn from your mistakes.”

Anyone who creates online content for any kind of blog, website, or video platform knows how much courage it takes to go after interesting topics day after day, take pictures, type blurbs, capture and edit video.

Once everything’s done, then a new set of fears kick in.

Will people like what I’ve done? Will anyone click on it? Am I wasting my time? Is anyone reading or watching my work?

The first and last questions are enough to cause even the most talented content creator to close his/her laptop and never turn it on again.

So what should we do?

King Bach says it best “Go out and create and whatever happens, happens. If you fail, pick yourself up and you try again.”

If you’ve never heard of the Shorty Awards, I suggest you check it out if just to be introduced to interesting new blog, vlogs and podcasts. Also the 2016 awards featured stars such Katie Couric, Jimmy Fallon and James Corden.
