Labor Day Getaways

The beach is a great relaxing getaway for the labor weekend/last days of summer. There are number of nice beaches in the DelMarVa area to choose from.

This weekend the hubby and I packed up the dog and headed down to Cheaspeake Beach.

The waterfront community of Cheasapeake Beach is bright and quaint. There are two beaches in town; we went to the north beach. Entry was $15 (WHAT?) and we couldn't bring Miko (sad face).

So We ate our picnic lunch on a park bench and took off in two separate directions.

David took Miko around on the Boardwalk and I headed over to the beach. Despite it all, it was great to sit on the sand and finish my book. I even took a dip in the cold Cheasepeake Bay water.

Sitting solo on the beach, I realize that it is equally important to relax as it is to work. God rested and reflected after each and every work day. In fact, end-of-the-day enjoyment is a gift from God. Who wouldn't take advantage of a free gift?

This labor day, I hope you all are resting, relaxing and having fun!

What kind of getaway do you have planned this weekend? How do you balance work with fun time? What do you like to do for fun?
