Low Key Holiday Glam for Virtual Christmas Gatherings

This Christmas is going to be very different for a lot of people. Thanks to COVID-19 all the Christmas parties I enjoyed going to are pretty much canceled. Even family get-togethers are out.

Last year my family had a big gathering with my parents, sister, brother and lots of cousins. This year, it's just going to be immediate family plus Zoom. Many of you are doing the same thing.

One thing I miss about the parties and the get-togethers is getting dress up head to toe.

But just because you're not leaving your house, doesn't you have to be boring. Here's some head-to-waist outfit ideas that are glamourous enough for your next virtual party.

Bring on the Glitter! Since we're at home no need to worry about cold temperatures. Turn up the heat and throw on a dressy tank top like this Shimmer Cami from Ann Taylor. I also substituted the itchy sweater with a festive red shawl. Never forget about jewelry. This sparkly necklace shines so bright, no one will know notice your pajama pants.

If you can't bare to part with your sweaters, put on one with a modern touch like this off the shoulder sweater. Then add a showstopper of a statement necklace.

Here's something I've learned from working from home: a blazer fixes everything. This suede one is adds a lot texture with crochet stitching in the shoulders, around the bust, waist and collar.

Why does texture matter? Because it makes people look at your outfit and by default, you!

Wear something fitted underneath like this silver and white sparkle tank top. Add to the visual interest by layering your accessories. My "model" is wearing a long chain with a velvet choker.

All of these outfits can be worn with jeans, leggings, or pajama pants if you really don't want to spare the effort. But whatever you do; please wear bottoms!
